“Southern Manor” reminds us that chivalry is not dead. Romance can be found in a loving glance or gentle touch of the cheek. For this wedding inspiration shoot, we were inspired by English still life paintings and outdoor elegance. As big Downton Abbey fans and even bigger Kate Middleton fans (our model is a Kate doppelganger, is she not!) – we wanted to capture the proper, English elegance with a distinct outdoor Southern flair: antlers, shotguns, Spanish moss and a subtle Americana palette of Merlot, ivory and french blue. All worked together to create a balance of sweet, simple, and sophisticated details throughout. See more of this styled shoot featured on Burnett’s Boards.

Our original inspiration board, created by Christa Elyce. Event Design and Styling by Natalie Dawley of Two Be Wed.

This particular image pays homage to the popular 20th century American-art painting, “American Gothic” by Grant Wood. Except our models are more easy on the eyes.

Varying tones of blush and burgundy in the floral, arranged full and loose like many English still life paintings. Floral by Tamara Menges.

The groom wore an Americana plaid shirt with a hunters jacket, and leather elbow patches.

As this shoot was inspired so much by art, it was a real treat to have Jaime Lewis Artistry commission a watercolor painting of the inspiration.

Outdoor Elegance with distinct Southern charm. Vintage rentals from Bourbon and Bloom.

Jaime Lewis Artistry also commissioned a watercolor bridal portrait of the stunning Hayley Paige gown from Now and Forever Bridal Boutique. She offers this with all her services!

The vintage table from Bourbon and Bloom was from the early 1900′s, and displayed classic china, delicate stemware, and double layered napkins from Over the Top Linen.

These subtle floral tones usher in Autumn so sweetly.

Placecards by Nib and Pixel, designed in the shape of a crest.

Nib and Pixel created a traditional calligraphy invitation suite with unexpected pops of red on blue paper and the plaid liner. Whimsical and classical all in one!

Dressed like royalty in Hayley Paige from Now and Forever Bridal Boutique.

Sugary and Chic Cake Boutique fashioned a buttercream cake with a sugar flower wreath- a southern staple decoration used in a fresh way. The painted wooden cake stand was an antique shopping steal!

Remember, chivalry is not dead!
