When hosting a New Orleans wedding, it’s go big or go home. Amanda and Keaton wanted to keep everything 100% authentic, including the masquerade mask favors, custom tote bags filled with local favorites and a map of the city, and of course the food! At the reception they served a wide selection of Cajun specialties; mini muffalettas, fried catfish, crab bisque, shrimp and grits and mini beignets for dessert! Amanda’s favorite New Orleans feature was the antique mantle that came from a historic home in the city. It served as the altar for the ceremony and was the perfect representation of the city’s history and the new couple starting their new lives together as a new married couple.

After dancing along to music provided by the Royal Dukes Band, the evening ended with a traditional second line parade led by a brass band down the streets of the city both Amanda and Keaton love so much. Surrounded by friends and families waving their hankies high, the couple soaked in every magical moment before riding off on horse and carriage.

Sweet words from the bride:
I was very lucky to work with as many great vendors as I did who could listen to what I had for a vision and make it a reality. Ashley, good friend and wedding planner with Two Be Wed, was a tremendous help! When my mom and I began planning, we were lost. She paved the way for us throughout the entire process. When I had an idea that I knew I liked but I wasn’t sure if it would fit in, she was there to let me know that it won’t fit with my original vision and that was that. After she helped us seek out and book all the main vendors (venue, band, lighting, floral, etc.), it was on to the details. This is where all the stress came! Keeping a list of what you need to buy/make/order and being sure that at least one other person knows that’s something you need to do really helped. Another vital aspect of the creative planning was learning to trust people to do their jobs, and do them well. There was a lot of trust involved as I was planning from Houston and unable to make it to the initial meetings like most. While stressful at certain moments, planning the wedding and then seeing all that hard work come to life is a feeling you can’t get back.
