Inspired by her Mexican heritage, Francisca’s idea for her wedding was “Spanish inspired contemporary chic”. She wanted her wedding to be full of lavish colors and rich textures while still incorporating elegance and romance. While she was searching for destination wedding resorts, her goal was to find a beach location where she could still bring her vision to life. Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit was exactly what Francisca was looking for, the luxurious and romantic resort provided the ideal setting for a beach wedding where you never even have to step in the sand. The architectural columns of the ceremony location caught Francisca’s eye from the beginning. Since the columns made a statement of their own, we decided to incorporate a simple garland of greenery and pops of bright, lush florals to soften the overall look. The floral designs, which were created by the venue, were a large part of incorporating the Spanish element. The use of vivid colors such as yellow, orange and pink, captured the overall essence of the rich Mexican culture.
The reception is where we really let the personality of the couple shine. In her own words, Francisca shared some of her favorite details. “For the reception I started with mint lace fabric I found on Etsy and ombre pink bridesmaids dresses. I met with three different local Houston linen providers looking for the right color and found it in a bold, rich raspberry linen which complimented my blushing mint runners to perfection. For the sweetheart table I chose a glitzy gold sequined linen softened by greenery garland. I adore the use calligraphy to give decor a unique embellishment. I had napkin wraps created with the lyrics to our first dance to give a sentimental touch to the table…[and] staying true to the location, each place setting had it’s own personalized mini tequila bottle.”
