To sum up Emily + Cameron and their wedding in one word it would be: FUN – pure heartfelt fun. Individually and even more so as a couple, Emily and Cameron are playful, generally happy people. They poured their happiness and love for one another into the many handcrafted and creative details. Emily hit the jackpot with creative friends and family, and was on the hunt for a completely raw space to transform. Veranda 17 at the Sam Houston Hotel was a match made in heaven. Exposed brick, city views, botanical touches and a little bit of outside indoors. Emily decided on a fresh and romantic color palette of peaches, creams and cool greys. The transformation was flawless and no detail was overlooked, especially not with Morgan Lynn and her hubby Amir behind the lens!

The chalkboard says it all, “Old, New, Borrowed and Blue, Emily is getting ready to say I do!”

How cool is this chalkboard wall at the Cutloose Hair Salon! Completely customizable to each bride!

Really cool angle of Downtown Houston, reminds us Reservoir Dogs!

Cameron is a big craft beer buff, and his bride gladly picked up his hobby and passion. They incorporated a beer theme throughout the wedding by using hops in the floral, escort card display and centerpieces, and even served home-brewed beer they had personally made. The best man & groom’s big brother designed handmade beer pulls with their names and wedding date for their home-brewed beer to be served. The handcrafted details don’t stop there – Cameron’s mother made the peach ribbon backdrop for the ceremony that was truly gorgeous, and friends of the Bride created a massive custom chalkboard bar menu with their signature drinks. Each detail made the wedding personal and unique to the lovely couple.

Peach ribbon backdrop handmade by the mother of the groom. Truly gorgeous and completely transformed the room!

Joanna of Flowers by Olivia outdid herself! We love the range of peach tones and the tulips!

One of our favorites! Everyone had a good laugh before the bride’s grand entrance!

A gorgeous view and setting for such a fresh & romantic ceremony!

Now, that’s a KISS!

LED lighting in the main lobby for the perfect backdrop and photo illusion.
Guests were welcomed downstairs for cocktails in the newly redesigned lobby of the Sam Houston Hotel. LED lighting, large crystal chandeliers and modern furniture perfect for a luxe cocktail hour! Upstairs the real magical transformation was taking place – switching gears from romance to party central. We chose a dark grey crushed linen from Swift + Co, and a combination of candlelit lanterns with minimal floral and low, full peach floral arrangements. And of course, we couldn’t let the gorgeous peach backdrop go to waste so we stationed the head table in front and center. Lights were dimmed, candles lit and the bar was stocked, we were ready for the party to begin!

We are dual purpose fanatics and love how Emily used the escort cards to display her guests entree choices!
Once the music started, it never stopped. You know you are in for a rockin’ dance party with DJ Jonny Black as the entertainment. There were some pretty sweet dance moves all night long, especially from the bride and groom. As the evening dwindled down, guests were served late night sliders and Java Pura Coffee Roasters whipped up some gourmet lattes. No one wanted the party to be over but willingly showered the newlyweds with rose petals in route to their elevator getaway. Emily’s wedding mission of a fun and incredible night was a complete success!

When you home-brew your own wedding beer, you must come up with catchy drink titles. Their talented friends handcrafted a custom chalkboard bar menu to display their large array of signature drinks and brews.

Simple but sweet butter cream cake by More than Cakes. Emily displayed her parents wedding topper as her something old.

Dancing the night away!

Emily’s job is relocating the Smiths on their newest adventure, London. Guests signed their well wishes on a chalkboard global map to take on their travels.

They did it – they’re married!

The new Mr. and Mrs. Smith, folks!
