Houston is growing ever so quickly and so is the wedding and event industry. We are so excited to announce that a new venue is opening in the Houston Art District, formerly the First Ward neighborhood – just outside of downtown Houston. Well actually, this venue has been there longer than any of us has been living! Station 3 is an historic fire station- the last one standing in its condition. It has the original brick, wooden floors, fire fighter pole, and unique architecture that gives it so much character. You want your wedding venue to have a story or to convey a message- this one speaks of Houston’s rich history and culture. We love that Station 3 is a preservation of our city’s best and bravest citizens.

The 5800 sq. ft., two story historic building has great structural bones and stunning city views for every type of event. The open space is literally a blank canvas for clients to create their dream event. Station 3 generously offers valet parking, an onsite event coordinator, and includes tables and chairs for up to 200 in their wedding and corporate rental packages. The onsite coordinator, Kerri Smelek, is very knowledgeable and passionate about making Station 3 a fabulous place to host events. We know what it’s like to run a one-woman show and have teamed up to offer Station 3 clients exclusive style and design assistance in addition to their existing day-of services.

The split level layout allows for a spacious ceremony or reception, and you can easily transition from ceremony to cocktail to reception on different levels. And it’s not just for weddings! The space is multifunctional and can accommodate intimate or large gatherings such as rehearsal dinners, engagement or birthday parties and corporate functions. The owners have brought new life to the old building, by restoring the existing architecture and bringing it up to the 21st century with amenities and exciting additions. There are plans in the making for phase 2 and phase 3 which include more open space, an enlarged bridal suite, and a rooftop entertainment space! With a view like that why not?! Oh, and the fire fighter pole is not just for looks. Our very own Casey Temple took it for a spin during our tour – it would make for one heck of a grand entrance for a brave bride and groom! Check out the video on our Instagram. Special thanks to Jack Perry of Perry Video & Photography for the photos!
